18Birthday!!?Q) My boyfriend and I are in charge of his little girls birthday party this year. And since I do not have kids this will be my first one to plan and throw. Does anyone have any ideas for a birthday party for a soon to be 7 year old? I need ideas on where to have it and ideas about I guess everything.
A) Do you have other adults to help you out?
My daughter's 8th birthday party was like this (at the house, with 8 guests, all girls):
Presents given and opened on arrival, with thank yous there and then. Presents put away quickly and tidied up.
As soon as all the guests arrive, start with games.
Hunt the object - everyone leaves the room except one child. That child must place a small object (anything - a dice, for example) somewhere visible. The others are called in. As each child spots the object, they must say nothing and sit down without saying where it is. The last person to spot it and sit down gets to hide it next time (so no real 'loser'). It's fun watching the last 2 desperately trying to spot it! They love this.
Cutting the chocolate - bar of chocolate, knife, fork, hat, scarf, gloves, dice. Each takes turn to roll a 6. When rolled, that person puts on all the clothes then tries to cut and eat as much chocolate as poss til the next 6 is rolled (the dice continues round the others all the time). The next person to roll a 6 must grab all the clothes, put them on, then try to cut, etc.
Musical Islands - pieces of paper, one less than the guests. Play music, when it stops, they have to jump on a piece of paper with one foot and one hand on it. One left is out. Remove another piece of paper and carry on.
Racing games - relay race, or pass the balloon over head and under legs down the line, then last in line runs to the front and continues etc.
Memory game - tray with about 12 objects on. In pairs, Each has a piece of paper and a pen. They have 1 seconds to look at the objects, then they are covered. 1 minute to write as many as they can remember.
"I went to market and I bought..." Adding a new thing each time. Memory.
Pass the parcel with forfeits. As they get the parcel, they have to carry out a forfeit, such as "recite your 8 times tables", "hop on one leg", "bark like a dog" etc.
This should be enough to be going on with!! If you can, get yourself a chocolate fountain. They don't cost that much, and I had one at my daughter's. It was a huge success! Pieces of fruit cut up (banana, mango, strawberry) and marshmallows. It was a massive hit!
Hope this is helpful to you. Sorry it's so long! Good luck, and don't forget to keep the momentum up. Don't give them a chance to get bored and misbehave. As soon as one game looks finished or tired, start a new one. Write out your agenda, so you know exaclty what you are doing, and have props all ready.
Don't forget to make little party bags to take home for the guests with toys, sweets and a piece of birthday cake in. Put each child's name on their bag.Birthday!!!?Q) My birthday is coming up in 11 days and I don't know what to do for my party! Does anyone have any ideas? I am turning 12 and all the guests will be girls, ages 11 and 12. Nothing to specific to girls or too 'girly'. Something that costs little to knoe money. Please help! All answers are appreciated, but please nothing innapropiate.
OMG I feel so stuoid for spelling no 'knoe'!
Okay, "little to no money" was what I meant!
OMG I spellrd stupid 'stuoid' I think my computer is messed up! Really I'm not stupid! If this message is messed up, it is not my fault!!! Anywho, I am having a sleepover, but what should I do there? Something out of the ordinary, we usually eat candy, stay up late, make-up, watch movies, Etc. We will do those things to, but what are some other ideas? You know, something to make it memorable? Thanks for all of your suggestions and great ideas!

OMG!!! I posted it twice, and the first time I spelled spelled wrong! I'm gonna stop correcting now, I'm hopeless!
A) Okay don't worry my birthday party is coming up on the 9th but my birthday is on the 18th. I am going to serve mini corndogs and pizza rolls. We are watch a Hilarius but really scary movie.(it is a sleepover) We might stay up for a long time drinking sodas with caffeine. You might want cheap goodies for your guest. Something 2006!birthday??Q) what fun place is there to go to on a birthday for a 11 year old (my lil bro)? we live like a hour away from san francisco. any cool places? q-zar is closed for a while, so me and my family are all out of ideas. we've been to the exploratorium and at chinese places where they cook in front of you at san francisco. also, we've been to china town a hundred times, so is there something else besides stuff in s.f.?
A) If you are South of SF, how about the Winchester Mystery House in the San Jose area. If you are North of SF, how about Infinion Raceway when they are doing a race or go down and take a ferry to Alcatraz it's a cool tour.
If you are in the Eastbay, there are a ton of things to do. Tilden Regional Park has some cool stuff, although maybe for a younger crowd. Hang out in Berkeley on Telegraph over by the campus. There are several places that do laser tag. You can rollerblade out at the old naval base in Alameda (or anywhere else for that matter). Rent a kayak at the Berkeley Marina. Go fishing on the pier. Take a boat out fishing from any marina.
Hope you have fun!
