A) When you are looking for cheap airfair, go to actual airline web sites. Look at prices for cheaper airlines, like Southwest Airlines, Airtran Airways, and Spirit airlines. The smaller airlines often have more lower prices, than the bigger major airlines. I recently traveled on Airtran Airways this spring, and we saved more money, then if we were to travel on a bigger airline. Sometimes it is cheaper to fly out of a certain airport, during a certain time of the day. If you can, avoid travelocity.com and web site like that. I heard that they charge you for using their web site, when you book a flight with them. My point is, go on the web sites for the airlines I mentioned. Yes they don't fly to every airport, but look it up first, then decide what airline to fly.

Southwest is coming up a few dollars more, at $242. All of these connect--there are no nonstop flights between Tucson and Portland (the closest major airport to Salem). Best to book direct from the airline for the cheapest fares, and to avoid additional booking fees.
